Metabolically Speaking

Our existence is dictated by our metabolism and the whole range of biochemical processes that occur within us and any living organism. Here, it also refers to the breakdown of nutrients on all levels and their transformation into energy. Metabolism consists of anabolism (the buildup of substances) and catabolism (the breakdown of substances). Catabolic people are aging young, before their chronological age indicators should come to play.

The  most common yet sneakiest problem that I  am encountering in my wellness center of 21+ years? A silent killer that is bearly getting noticed! But one out of 3 adults in U.S. suffer from it: Metabolic Syndrome! It sucks the life force one little bite at a time until it finally gets diagnosed with a name that is not more then an indicator for the underlying problem, but fits the MDA Drug Therapy Standards:
  • Physically: 1) high blood pressure, 2) high blood sugar, 3) high triglycerides, 4) high cholesterol, 5) weight
  • Emotionally: 1) tension, 2) anxiety, 3) depression, 4) bi-polar disorder, 5) chronic fatigue, 6) irritability
  • Mentally: 1) attention deficit syndrome,  2) over whelm, 3) confusion, 4) brain fog…
  • Spiritually: 1) intention deficit syndrome, 2) disconnect, 3) suicidal tendencies

All of these markers are leading towards catabolism, your life is breaking down faster then you can repair it…

Henry David Thoreau said: “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.”

I would update that by saying: ‘Most womb-men leave their lives in quiet desperation while their bodies are still walking…’

  1. Why Blood Chemistry Nutritional Analysis ?

    Dr Datis Kharrazian explains it best….”There is no general test that is more efficient, effective, and affordable than a comprehensive blood chemistry panel. A comprehensive blood chemistry panel will allow the health care provider to quickly asses the degree of health or disease in a patient. It is the ultimate tool in biomedical laboratory sciences to evaluate new patients. It allows the healthcare provider to establish a baseline of biomarkers that can be used to track the patient’s health immediately and over a period of time.”

    Once these biomarkers are established the healthcare provider can prescribe sound evidence based nutritional protocols , lifestyle changes and monitor changes for treatment.

    metabolic syndrome does suck. been dealing with it for 40 years!yikes! tried every kind of diet and still very little to show for it. and your comment about it sucking the life right out of you bit by bit is spot on. it steals the prime of your life and leaves you with misery.

    by the way what do you do when you suffer fasting hypoglycemia (tho the numbers are still considered in normal range in glucose tolerance tests) and have to eat at 3 or 4 in the morning because you get extremely jittery and hungry! otherwise I can’t get back to sleep as my body bugs the heck out of me to get up and eat. after I eat I can usually go back to sleep.

    more attention needs to be given to the underlying nutritional deficiency that is causing metabolic syndrome I have read researchers say it is a malnutrtion problem to many high gi low quality carbs and not enough quality fats, vita d, a, k, etc and not enough dietary cholesterol. made more sense to me then the stupid repeated rethoric you just eat to dang much stupid!

    personally it is frustrating to not be able to sleep thorugh the night because of hunger. I eat plenty during the day but doesn’t seem to matter. I eat healthy too.

    I eat lots of veggies, whole fruits only a small amount of grain products, like brown rice and maybe a small bowl of raisin bran when I am hungry for it. anyhow I have just started to supplement in the past 10 days with pure cod liver oil. will see if that helps up my vita d, omega 3 status a lot more than just drinking whole milk. man I wish I could get raw milk. I am sure that would help my digestion.
